How to disable users private files in moodle

Steps of how to disable private users file in moodle:

Solution # 1 : Define roles Authenticated (this one worked for me)

  1.  Login as administrator
  2.  Locate > Site Administrator
  3. Click > User > Permissions > Define roles
  4.  Select > Authenticated user
  5.  Filter type > Private
  6. Set the following to prohibit;
  •  Add a new my private files block to My home : Prohibit
  •  Manage files on own private file area : Prohibit
  •  View user private files : Prohibit
  • Add a new private files block : Prohibit

 

Solution # 2: Disable the plugin

  1.  Login as administrator
  2.  Locate > Site Administrator
  3.  Click > Plugins >Manage repositories
  4.  Private files > drop down and select Disabled

 

Solution # 3 : Define roles Student

  1.  Login as administrator
  2.  Locate > Site Administrator
  3. Click > User > Permissions > Define roles
  4.  Select > Student
  5.  Filter type > Private
  6. Set the following to prohibit;
  •  Add a new my private files block to My home : Prohibit
  •  Manage files on own private file area : Prohibit
  •  View user private files : Prohibit
  • Add a new private files block : Prohibit
