Solve: The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. Adobe captivate 8 in Windows 8.1 64bit

Solution: The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. Using Adobe captivate in Windows 8.1 64bit

Solution #1:

  1. Type > run
  2. Type > regedit
  3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\batfile\shell\edit\command
  4. Click and Right Click, Select > Modify
  5. %SystemRoot%\System32\NOTEPAD.EXE %1”
  6. Remove special character like: “ \/[]:<>+;=?”

Solution #2: (solves my problem)

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Select > Default Program
  3. Select > Set your Default Programs
  4. Select > Internet Explorer or Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
  5. Select > Choose defaults for this program
  6. Click > Select All
  7. Click > Save
  8. Click > Ok

After doing the steps above try to a run a preview of your adobe captivate file.

Just in-case the solutions above didn’t work in your end try this solutions:

Solution #3:

  1. My Computer or This Computer
  2. Click > Program Files
  3. Select > Adobe > Adobe Captivate
  4. Click and Right Click > AdobeCaptivate .exe file
  5. Remove any special characters that’s shouldn’t be there like : “ \/[]:<>+;=?”

Solution #4:

  1. Control Panel
  2. Click > firewall
  3. Disable firewall

Solution #5:

  1. Click and Right Click > This Computer
  2. Select > Properties
  3. On left Side Select > System Protection
  4. Select the Drives which Protection is ON
  5. Select > Configure
  6. Select > Disable System Protection
  7. Click > Ok
